DEAD LIFTS using NewGrips
"Considering my favorite exercise is the deadlift, (that's me in the photo) I was very excited to try the New Grips and see if I could make an increase on my 1RM. My 1RM was 295 with traditional gloves. 2 days later I attempted my NewGrip 1RM in which I pulled a 315.NewGrips are superior compared to lifting straps, because they do not put as much stress on the wrists as the straps do. I love New Grips....Thanks to everyone at BodyBuilding.com for all the recommendations." -David McBride, Massachusetts

"The thing I like most about NewGrip gloves is the extra grip which allows me to lift heavier weights on exercises like deadlifts (now over 220lb /100KG). But more importantly they allow me to use the same weight, on an exercise, as before but maintain much better form since I am not struggling with simply holding the weight. Your gloves are excellent."

"I have already bought 4 different types of gloves and my grip always let me down BUT with NewGrips I have put 20 kilo on my deadlift and more reps, plus I can do bent lateral raises now, where before the weight slipped. I recommend them to everyone."

"Without the padding NewGrips provide I wouldn't be able to use my full grip strength due to a "knot" in my right palm which doctors say is tendon injury damage from heavy weight lifting. With my hands protected (usimg Grips) I can now dead lift up to my max, lower 500's. I would tell experienced lifters that the Grips provide good palm protection and do not make your hands as hot as gloves (which can be a real pain). Chalk may still be needed at higher weights. (Grips worked fine for everything but super heavy dead lifts, so, I set aside the wrist straps and slide the pads well up my hands so that the padding ends at the bottom of my fingers; this lets the pads do all the work. Super."

TIPS for Deadlifting:
As you know deadlifts hurt your fingers and wrists.
All you basically needed for dead lifting is: > good grip > padded fingers.
In truth, wrist support may not be very helpful; as your fingers do all the holding and your shoulders and arms do the lifting.
Greg Adler, who is featured on my home page, uses NewGrip hand pads alone, detached from the wrist straps. This allows the pads to stay in his finger joints longer. Whereas when
they are attached to the wrist straps they can slide upward as you lift the bar.
Here is how to Deadlift using NewGrips:
1. Use the pads SEPARATELY. 2. Detach the pads from the straps and turn the straps around your wrist to prevent the pads from sticking to the velcro.
3.
Place the hand pad material so that it is hanging at least 1/2 inch over the edge of your finger tips. This will create a 'saddle' for the weight bar. This helps you hold the bar longer. 4. When finished, reattach the pads to the straps and move on to the next part of your routine. 5. Using this method you should be able to lift heavier.
Let NewGrips absorb the pain - not your hands and wrists
